Parenting Coordinator

The parenting coordinator works directly with families to help them deal with conflict, and in dealing with that conflict stay out of the courts and use communication techniques and mediation to stay off the court dockets. This reduce cost to the families for litigation. The parenting coordinator is bound by confidentiality and only reports to the court the fact the process is benefiting or not benefiting the family. A huge benefit to the court system is that this Cordinator helps keep cases off the docket. And lowers recidivism in the courts.

Parenting Facilitator

The parenting facilitator has a similar role to the parenting coordinator. There are two major differences. The parenting facilitator has to be a trained mental health professional or an attorney. Secondly, the parenting facilitator is not bound by confidentiality and can make any request or needs known to the court. Some see that as a negative in dealing with a family since the family doesn’t have a feeling of safety in that whatever they say or do can be made known to the courts.

Mediator

The mediator is a third-party neutral who works to facilitate an agreement that will resolve a conflict in issues a family may have. The mediator does not make any decisions or make directives in coming to an agreement. In the mediation no resolution will be forced upon the parties by the mediator. If an agreement cannot be reached in mediation the parties can take to disagreement into the court and the judge or jury will decide the issue for the family. Our mediators have a very high percentage of resolution through mediation. Or mediators average 75 to 85% successful resolution to the issues brought to mediation in family matters. This can save families tens of thousands of dollars that would have been spent in litigation.
